The Brown Lands...
...Just outside Mordor.
So. Where am I now?
(Lars, if you're out there, I rescued a box turtle in your honour the other day. To commemorate, I carved your name into his plastron.)

Is it just me, or does that place look absolutely beautiful? Just give me a shade tent and running water to wash off the omnipresent dust.
Glacial and water erosion, so... somewhere around North Dakota or Minnesota. Somewhere that got hit in the most recent ice age.
Are you sure you didn't make a wrong turn at Tatooine?
Agate Springs, I bet.
As to the box turtle - thanks. I hope that you put the date by my name.
Cheers - Lars
Heh, that looks like the desert location in SoCal that was featured in so many Original Star Trek episodes (you know, the one where Kirk fights the Gorn - the guy with the plaster-of-paris lizard head.)
What do I win if I'm right?
Looks like Goblin Valley in southern Utah. If so, a pity I don't have time to take a sudden road trip, being in SLC and all.
I vote Utah, or Iceland.
I'm guessing ... Arrakis.

That's what I was thnking...
Toadstool Park, Nebraska.
Anonymous takes it!
Picture #3 reminds me exactly of two things. The top half looks like Wolfram's CA, and the bottom half is a cantor dust done in mushrooms.
Or maybe my implants are acting up. I did "take my quantical offline" about 5 minutes ago, if you know what I mean...nudge nudge wink wink
Man, that looks exactly like the Negev desert in the south here...it is uncanny.
you are in the hoodoos in southern alberta, near drumheller...
what the fuck ae you doing out here?
continues my theme that alberta to texas is one long country, just like haida gawaii to catalina is one.

Heck, Texas itself isn't even one long country, as you travel south east to north west.
One of those shots looks uncomfortably like the location for an old "Star Trek" episode. I don't suppose you spotted William Shatner being chased through the area by a seven foot Gorn by any chance did you?
Shit, I just read Ken's comment and I'm not the only one who noticed. Ken, let's do lunch!
